Since the beginning of its residency at the Blair School of Music in fall 2005, The Nashville Jazz Orchestra has provided students with valuable access to clinics, sectionals, open rehearsals, and exceptional performances, all giving real context and purpose to the study of jazz. These opportunities are now being extended to the Nashville community through performances and master classes. The ensemble is dedicated to the performance of quality jazz by some of Nashville's best studio musicians. The band's library includes standard big band charts and original arrangements by local arrangers. The Nashville Jazz Orchestra also promotes jazz education through concerts and clinics in local schools. Through the Music Performance Trust Fund the NJO is available to perform at schools for only a fraction of the standard fee. To host a live performance at your facility the cost is just 25% of the normal fee. Please book the ensemble 6 weeks in advance to coordinate musicians, and share the talents of a great performing ensemble with a new jazz audience. For more information on booking a performance please contact director Jim Williamson at 615-889-6335 or by e-mail at jim@nashvillejazzorchestra.org
