Mullen, eLi, Micah Dalton, Grits, Knowdaverbs, and Pigeon John.

There will be an added jolt of color to the evening, as local artist and gallery owner Ron York of “York & Friends Fine Art” will be displaying his gallery’s music-themed artworks in the lobby for patrons to enjoy before and after the show and during intermission.

Friday’s performance will begin at 8 p.m. at Ingram Hall in the Blair School of Music, 2400 Blakemore Avenue. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 seniors (65+), $15 Vanderbilt employees, $10 students with ID, and $5 VU students with ID. Tickets can be purchased at the door before the concert

Local jazz cats arrange and compose for weeks before the concert to compile music to a new theme each year.  The NJO will bring over a dozen of Wonder’s Motown hits such as “Sir Duke,” “I Wish,” and “Superstition” to life with the finest jazz musicians in Music City.

This year’s music was arranged by Bernie Walker, Mark Taylor, Roger Bissell, Ryan Middagh, Bill Holman, Mike Tamaro, Oscar Utterstrom, Tim Akers, Ted Wilson, and Jim Williamson. Christina Watson and Jason Eskridge will be the guest vocalists for the evening.
